Udupi, Aug 12: A youth, native of Punjab, lost control of the scooter he was riding, crashed against the retaining fence made of iron and died on Thursday August 11, near Kanjarakatte of Padubidri.

Rajkishore (28), native of Punjab is the youth who lost his life. He was on duty in a food processing unit at Nandikoor industrial area. He was riding from Belman to Padubidri along with Kishore of Padubidri as the pillion when the mishap occurred.

Both rider Rajkishore and pillion Kishore were taken to Karkala taluk hospital immediately. However, the doctors declared Rajkishore dead on arrival. Pillion Kishore escaped with minor injuries.

A case in this connection is registered in Padubidri police station.

Rest in peace brother. I presume this is due to the unscientifically placed metal barriers which are placed near blind curves. Any new driver on this stretch will be confused at these barriers. Another set of barricades near Doopadakatte bus stand also poses danger at night. Hope the concerned authorities resolve these issues before more such incidents happen.

While it is sad and distressing ----- not sure if he was wearing helmet -- many for short distance assume helmet not reqd--- also imp - to wear it properly -- fitting + straps -------------- (This is assuming road conditions were ok )--- But it is the most important and vital-( HELMET ) -- RIP --

hope this is not due to bad road or pot hole...RIP...
